My concentration is centered around male beauty, so my main focus was to take pictures where the models looked and felt good. For most of the pictures, I had the models wear clothing that they felt confident in and kept the poses very natural.
In the 1st picture, I wanted to contrast my model's masculine face and facial hair with soft makeup, and glamorous smoke to show a dream like state. For the 4th picture I had my model back lit to emphasize the profile of his face, showing his relaxed facial expression. I had the model place his head in a female model's lap to suggest less dominance in a heterosexual relationship. In the 8th and 11th pieces, I decided to use an older man and young boy as models to emphasis the fact that beauty is not confined to an age range. For my 12th piece, I used a model who is transgender. I wanted to use him to show that being a man means a lot of different things, and everyone should express themselves in the way they feel inside. In most of my pieces I wanted my models to have a relaxed facial expression to keep the pictures pure and natural and imply that they are comfortable and confident.
